Meanwhile, US domestic carriers would like to remind you that polite greetings are only complimentary for fir st and business-class travelers or those with silver status or above. Coach and economy- plus passengers without status can purchase a greeting for $12 at booking or during boarding (credit-card only), except basic economy passengers who must upgrade to standard coach before the can purchase a greeting update .

To be fair, airlines have been ahead of the curve for years - all bathrooms are for all genders.
